She leaves to mourn her loss her nieces and nephews, Veronica and her husband Manuel Cauchi, Brian Darmanin and his wife Roseanne, Phena and her husband Ray Azzopardi, Anna Saddemi, Pat and her husband David Anastasi, Greta and her husband Anthony Bartolo Parnis, Angela and her husband Rupert Montanaro, Martin Leone Ganado and his wife Dora, Marina and her husband Robert Arrigo, her brother in-law Maurice Agius and sisters in-law Doris Degabriele, Marie-Claire Agius and Jeanne Agius, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves Villa Messina tomorrow, January 6, at 2pm for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be held at 2.30pm followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. BUTTIGIEG. On January 5, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOHN of Tarxien, aged 90, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Rita, his daughters Ġuża, Mary and Gracie, his sons Patrick and Alfred, his brother Angelo and sister Frances, grandchildren and other relatives.

CAUCHI. On January 4, at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre, CISSIE, widow of Paul, residing in Sliema, aged 90, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her sons Peter and his wife Monica, Albert and David and his partner Bernadette, her adored grandchildren Lisa, Paul, Daniela, Mia, Tara, Carla, David and Craig and their respective wives and husbands, her great-grandchildren, Lucy, Tom, Sebastian, Gregory, Alexander, Cory, Finn, Stephen and Courtney, other relatives and her many friends, and her dedicated helpers Lyn, Cher and Jasmine. GRECH. On January 3, at Mater Dei Hospital, TANO (ex-director, Kirton & Co. Ltd), aged 84, residing in Sliema, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his son Nicky and his wife Cecily, his daughter Vanessa and her husband Charles Rapa, his adored grandchildren Liam, Nicola and Noah, his bothers Philip, Frank and his wife Aida, Sophie, widow of his brother Tony, nephews and nieces, other relatives and his many friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow January 6 at 8.45am for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. MEILAK. Tragically, on January 1, in Gozo, MATTHEW of Swieqi, aged 22, fifth year law student, went to meet the Risen Lord. He leaves to mourn his great and irreparable loss, his beloved parents Lucienne and Stefan, his dearest sister Bea, his grandmother Cettina Caruana Curran and her husband Maurice, his grandparents Martin and Tania Vassallo, his aunts and uncles: Erika Vella and her husband Ivan, Danielle Drago and her husband David and John Vassallo and his wife Baudina, his cousins: James, Jonathan, Chrissa, Andrew, Julian, Sean, Elena, Jordi and Ella, great aunts and uncles, other relatives and numerous friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 7 at 2pm at Tal-Ibraġ parish church, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. PANTALLERESCO. On January 3, JOSEPH, aged 89 of Sliema, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sisters Maria, wife of Ġużi Felice, Ina, wife of Walter Vella Gera, and Alda, his niece Helga, wife of Anthony Mayo, his carer Isabel Azzopardi, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30am for Jesus of Nazareth church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be held at 9am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Iz-Zuntier open forum

An open forum called Iz-Zuntier will be held on 8, 15, 22, 29 January at 7.30pm at the Birkirkara Oratory of the Missionary Society of St Paul (MSSP).

During the sessions, participants will be able to ask experts in specific areas questions and clarify difficulties on sensitive issues such as ethics, morals and the Church's teachings on controversial matters.

It will also be possible for participants to post anonymous questions which would be forwarded to the speakers.
