The internal dome of Xagħra parish church is currently undergoing extensive restoration and conservation work.

The cleaning of gilded details and the repainting of the mural features have been entrusted to Alan Cini and Carmel Tabone, while the conservation and restoration of paintings are being done by Manwel Zammit.

The al fresco paintings were made by Virginio Monti in the 1920s. Monti also designed the stained glass windows made at the Pizzirani firm of Milan and installed in the 1930s.
