Klabb Kotba Maltin and Midsea Books were awarded prizes for best novel, best poetry book, best children’s book and best production of a book in another language during this year’s National Book Prize ceremony.

The awarded books included L-Eżodu taċ-Ċikonji, a novel by the Palestinian-born author Walid Nabhan, who now lives in Malta; Penelopi Tistenna, an anthology of the latest poems by Immanuel Mifsud, who was also recently decorated with the Midalja għall-Qadi tar-Repubblika for his achievements in Maltese literature.

Another winning title in the category for children and adolescents was Vleġġa Kkargata by Adrian Grima.The prize for best production for a book not in Maltese was awarded to The Mediterranean Artistic Context of Late Medieval Malta by Charlene Vella.
