The HSBC UK Contact Centre Malta has the best of the season’s celebrations being brought to it – in plenty of avatars.

With a focus on creating a palpable spirit of joy and sharing, events included shopping extravaganza, fun raffles, a cake competition, outings for children, volunteering for adults, mulled wine and mince pies on Christmas Eve.

The facility has been draped with Christmas sparkle as overhanging aisle boards, pillar posters, window signs and lit trees adorned the halls.

“Employee well-being is our highest priority and we wanted to use the occasion to create an overall experience where colleagues can share their joy but also strengthen their sense of community,” said the centre’s people experience manager Richard Powell.

Based in Swatar and employing more than 400 staff members trained to assist UK account-holding customers, the contact centre is known for its positive, informal and highly sociable atmosphere thanks to an emphasis on work-life balance.

It provides a range of support services to its employees, including a concierge service, in-house gym, childcare subsidies, on-site medical health checks, discounted rates on home loans, life insurance and private healthcare and a shift-swapping facility.
