President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca paid her first official visit to the Archbishop’s Seminary School in Rabat, where she addressed all secondary students.

The school’s head, Fr Mark Ellul, spoke about the strong character formation the boys received. The school community enables them to discover the beauty of a strong Christian character, harnessing solidarity and respect besides charity.

The President said character formation was an essential element for the well-being of society. She emphasised on the fact that time given to others is what really mattered. While acknowledging the hard work being carried out in all Church schools, she showed her full support towards the strong values passed on to the students.

The students wrote a short message about celebrating life and notes were presented in a book especially made for the occasion. The Archbishop’s Seminary also donated €250 in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund.

During informal discussions with the students, the President heard about their wish for more hands-on experiences throughout their school years to help them immerse themselves in the adult world better.
