Q: I recently bought a tablet from a local online seller. The tablet was advertised for the price of €290 and the seller sold it to me for €285. I found out that a local retail outlet was selling the same brand at €279.

Am I allowed to ask the online seller to refund me the price difference?

A: Sellers operate in a free market economy and can therefore decide how much to sell their products.

There is no law that fixes prices or profit margin. Hence, the seller is not legally obliged to refund you.

It is up to the consumer to shop around and look out for the best deals before buying.
