The Premier League clash between Tottenham and Manchester United always generates plenty of drama. Tomorrow, the two heavyweights will be the centre of attraction at White Hart Lane.

Spurs have lost four matches in front of their own fans, the most in the home losses column before yesterday’s programme, along with West Brom, Crystal Palace and Hull.

Manchester United have won twice on their travels this season... at Arsenal and Southampton.

Attacker Harry Kane is in hot form for the Spurs after hitting goals in all competitions and his manager Mauricio Pochettino is proud to be assisting England by nurturing his talent.

Pochettino also believes Erik Lamela’s match-winning goal against Burnley will do wonders for the winger’s confidence this season.

Meanwhile, after months of waiting, it finally appears that DeAndre Yedlin is heading to Tottenham.

Last week, it was confirmed that the former Seattle Sounders defender had won a working permit in the UK so he will be able to play for Tottenham as from next month.

Yedlin had actually signed a deal with Tottenham over the summer. However, because it was in the middle of the MLS season and due to lack of documents required, both Spurs and the Sounders agreed Yedlin would stay in the US for a few more months.

At United, manager Louis van Gaal is refusing to offer any guarantees to loan signing Radamel Falcao even after the Colombian striker earned a point for his team with the equaliser in a 1-1 draw against 10-man Aston Villa last weekend.

The following results show that United have the edge on Spurs even when playing at White Lane, having not lost a league match in the last ten fixtures in the Premier League.

2013: Spurs-United 2-2
2013: Spurs-United 1-1
2012: Spurs-United 1-3
2011: Spurs-United 0-0
2009: Spurs-United 1-3
2008: Spurs-United 0-0
2008: Spurs-United 1-1
2007: Spurs-United 0-4
2006: Spurs-United 1-2
2004: Spurs-United 0-1

Tomorrow, Jose Mourinho’s championship contenders Chel-sea travel to Southampton keen to enhance their away record of one defeat (at Newcastle) in eight league matches.

Mourinho believes team ethos must prevail as he admitted some members of his squad may be frustrated at the lack of first-team opportunities.

But the Portuguese coach is confident such players are ready to help the team during this hectic festive period.

In other matches, champions Manchester City entertain promoted side Burnley at the Etihad Stadium while Sam Allardyce will watch his side going through an acid test in the duel with London neighbours Arsenal.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal great Ray Parlour is urging Gunners boss Arsene Wenger to sign a player similar to Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic.

Wenger is expected to splash out around £20m in January ona centre-half and a central midfielder as Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey are all currently sidelined by injury.

The sale of Thomas Vermaelen to Barcelona in the summer left Wenger with only Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny as experienced central defenders, with Calum Chambers, Nacho Monreal and Mathieu Debuchy forced to fill gaps.
