I read with disbelief the article regarding the four employees who maliciously made false claims of sexual molestation by a work colleague (December 17).

That these four people have escaped prosecution or anytype of disciplinary action beggars belief, and shows a total lack of responsibility by both the police and the Department for Health.

There are some serious criminal offences that appear to have been committed in this case such as perjury, conspiracy to defeat the course of justice, wasting police time.

It also illustrates that the individual is no longer protected by the law.

The new Police Commissioner should immediately undertake a review of this case and instigate proceedings against the four employees who made the false claims.

It is precisely cases like this that have negated public confidence in the police service, and led to the belief that you are ‘Guilty until proven innocent’ in Malta.
