The Royal Lifesaving Society – Malta Branch presented successful course participants with awards and certificates at an event in Sliema.

Fr Hilary Tagliaferro presid­ed the ceremony at which 116 awards were distributed.

The shield for the highest number of points was presented to C company (SD) – 1st Regt AFM, while the Maritime Squad­ron AFM received the runners-up trophy. The trophy for the lower awards was presented to Tarxien Girl Guides.

The society is a voluntary organisation whose main aim is to teach methods of resuscitation and life-saving techniques. The Malta branch is a member of RLSS Commonwealth and is enrolled with the Commissioner of Voluntary Organisations.

The branch runs courses throughout the year.
