Three new directors were elected to the Bank of Valletta board last week, two of whom had already served on the board in the past.

George Portanier had been a director between 1992 and 2013 but was not elected last year.

Notary Alicia Agius Gatt is a newcomer to the board while BOV employee James Grech, who is currently head of finance for investment operations, had served on the board between 2004 and 2008.

Of the 2013 board, Paul Testaferrata Moroni Viani, George Wells and Franco Xuereb did not re-contest, while Joe Zrinzo, Mario Grima and Joe Borg were re-elected.

Chairman John Cassar White and Taddeo Scerri were appointed by the government, the majority shareholder, until the 2015 AGM.

Roberto Cassata was appointed by shareholder Unicredit.
