The Malta Tourism Authority has awarded The Palace hotel, Sliema, with the eco-certification for its commitment to enhance environmental responsibility.

Eco-certification is given to hotels that implement environmental and socio-economic policies throughout their hotel premises. Such policies are aimed at improving the hotel’s environmental performance and increasing awareness among employees.

Throughout the past year, the management of The Palace has introduced various procedures and processes which have been vital to achieve a better sustainable environment. These measures have resulted in the use of eco-friendly materials that minimise pollution and ensure environmental sustainability.

The Palace hotel manager Kevin Callus said The Palace was proud to be eco-certified as it underlined its commitment towards the environment. “Throughout the past year we have done our utmost not only to implement green strategies that help reduce our carbon footprint but also helped train our employees on issues related to the environment. This environmental consciousness forms an integral part of the corporate social responsibility philosophy we believe in,” he added.
