MSV Life has launched an interactive retirement planning tool on its website. The tool takes into consideration salary, the number of years worked to date and age – as well as any existing savings. It also enables people to plan what income they would like to receive in retirement and then calculates how much they should save today in order to make up for any shortfall between the State Pension and what they will need.

“Some of the figures might shock people,” Stuart Fairbairn, chief officer for business development at MSV Life said. Mr Fairbairn warned it is important that we are realistic about our future.

“It is very possible that our savings will have to provide us with an income in retirement for at least 25 years. That’s a sobering thought when most of us will have only actually worked for 40 years!”

Melita WiFi praised by Cisco executives

Melita’s next generation Wi-Fi service – Melita WiFi – has been featured by Cisco as a best practice case study on the company’s website and social media channels.

A team of Cisco executives and producers visited Malta this summer to produce an audiovisual feature about Melita’s convergence strategy, melitaWIFI and superfast broadband positioned at the heart of this strategy.

The video was uploaded on You Tube and also features shots of Malta as a primary touristic and business destination.

Writing in her blog on cisco.com Lisa Garza, marketing manager at Cisco commented: “Melita’s vision was bold. In 2009, the cable operator recognised that convergence was the way to the future, and they added mobile services to their portfolio. Their goal was to offer seamless services to their customers whether at home or on the go, so they added WiFi to the home and then expanded the WiFi footprint outdoors with Cisco Universal Wi-Fi.”

Melita WiFi will also be one of the main technical presentation at Cisco Live in Milan in January 2015.

MelitaWiFi is available for free until September 2015 to all melita internet and melita mobile Hybrid and Pay monthly customers.
