A Canadian woman who stopped her car to help ducklings cross the highway in 2010 has been jailed for the deaths of two motorcyclists who ploughed into her vehicle.
The two victims were a 50-year-old man and his 16-year-old daughter.
She was convicted in June for criminal negligence and dangerous driving causing death, and has now been sentenced to 90 days in jail.
Pauline Volikakas, wife and mother of the victims, said she was satisfied with the sentence, and wanted to move on.
"It would help us maybe to go on with our lives with a positive attitude instead of a negative attitude," she said.
Czornobaj will serve her time in jail on the weekends. She was also sentenced to some 240 hours of community service.
