Delicata’s recently repackaged Classic Collection range of seven wines, with their easy-to-use screw-cap closures, has added a newcomer to its ranks.

The collection of single varietal wines, which has been around since 1993, has always consisted of a range of both whites and reds. From this week, a Classic rosé wine produced entirely from Malta-grown Syrah grapes has been added.

For historical reasons, the Classic Collection range is named after Italian composers – Donato Chardonnay, Landini Vermentino, Gabrieli Pinot Grigio, Cavalli Sauvignon Blanc, Casella Moscato, Carissimi Cabernet Sauvignon, Marenzio Merlot and the latest ‘maestro’ in the ‘ensemble’ follows suit.

An easy-drinking rose wine that’s jam-packed with ripe, concentrated red berry fruit flavours

The 2014 Rossini Rosé Syrah IGT Maltese Islands is a delightful, fruity, dry rosé made from hand-picked 2014-harvested grapes. It’s an easy-drinking rosé wine that’s jam-packed with ripe, concentrated red berry fruit flavours. It has a wonderful, fragrant bouquet and a light delicate colour.

Served chilled, it is ideal either on its own as an aperitif or with most types of seafood, pasta dishes, pizza, poultry, salads and oriental cuisine.

The Rossini Rosé is not the only Classic Collection wine to be released from the recent 2014 vintage.

Four other whites – the Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Vermentino – have also been bottled and are now available at the winery.

This latest rosé wine joins seven other rosés produced by Delicata, all of which are popular on the domestic market and going from strength to strength. They include well-known brands such as Pjazza Reġina, Medina, Victoria Heights, Frizzante and Dolcino.
