During this time of the year, many organisations come together to collect funds for L-Istrina, the Malta Community Chest Fund’s annual campaign.

The HiTT Academy, with the approval of the MTTA, is embracing this nationwide initiative by organising a 30-hour table tennis marathon in aid of L-Istrina this weekend.

In a statement, HiTT said the marathon is being staged at Valletta’s St Albert the Great College which will be open to the general public throughout this fund-raising activity.

“The 30-hour marathon will include fun activities aimed at different age groups,” HiTT Academy said.

“There will also be various competitions like the HiTT Club Competition, Malta’s Best Competition, Double Games Competition, Late Night Competition, Parent and Player and Ping Pong.

“An old boys’ tournament is also on the agenda, so former players are invited to participate. This tournament will be on Saturday.”

The equipment will be provided by HiTT Academy.

Newcomers will also have the chance to try their hand at table tennis as HiTT coach Mario Genovese will conduct a one-hour session and assessment during the marathon.

More details on this event can be found on the HiTT Academy website, www.hittmalta.com.
