On Sunday, the ASMK are to hold a day-long event to raise funds for the Malta Community Chest Fund.

The programme includes various events, including Autocross and Motocross races, plus the popular Demolition derby.

In keeping with the good spirit of the occasion, the ASMK is offering spectators the chance to join in the action.

They will be able to team up with drivers in Autocross cars around the track in purposely-fitted second seats against a donation of €5 towards L-Istrina.

The more daring enthusiasts can have a drive themselves in a car prepared for the event by the Zanu Racing Team.

Helmets and seatbelts will be provided by the organisers.

Meanwhile, after four rounds of the 2014/15 ASMK Pasta Poiatti Championship, Philip Joe Vella, in his Opel Corsa, leads the way with 89 points.

Vella is eight points ahead of Christian Mark Galea in a Fiat Ritmo.

Jason Martin and Vince Farrugia, both driving a Volkswagen Polo, lie third and fourth with 48 and 42 points respectively, followed by the Vauxhall Novas of Keith Borg and Andrew Pisani with 38 and 34 points.

The Motocross season is also underway with the KTMs looking to be taking the championship by storm.

In fact, three of the top five places in Class A are occupied by KTM riders.

Clayton Camilleri heads the classification on 50 points, six ahead of Paul Muscat.

Three drivers are sharing third spot, namely Trevor Muscat (KTM), Stefan Dimech (Honda) and Edward Ciantar (Kawasaki), all on 36 points.

Class B sees another KTM rider on top as Ludwig Muscat has 50 points with Turu Micallef, on a Honda, second on 42.

Gozitan Adam Sultana, on his Kawasaki, is third with 38 points.
