Joseph Vella Bonnici’s article on “the geo-economics of oil” (December 16) said what many already knew – that the price of oil crashed by 40 per cent in a few months and what consequences that might have on oil-producing countries.

What it does not tell us is that this sharp drop in the oil price has not affected Maltese households – our prices of fuel and paraffin have not significantly changed.
