72 policemen have been reinstated since the general election, data given in parliament today shows.

Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela, replying to a question by Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi, said 17 were under 44 years old, 45 were between 45 and 55 years old and 13 were between 56 and 60.

One of the officers had left the police force in 1986 and another in 1999.
