Schools and communities submitting proposals for the HSBC Malta Water Programme – Catch the Drop have until Friday to share their pro-jects for this scholastic year.

Proposals can be submitted in the School Outreach Programme or Community Outreach Programme categories. The winning proposals will be announced by the end of January.

The School Outreach Programme aims to empower students to become active contributors and to look at actions that can be taken to reduce water consumption. Proposals submitted by schools and local councils should demonstrate how a project can reduce water consumption within families, schools and surrounding communities.

Over 45 school representatives attended an information session last October, hosted by the HSBC Malta Water Programme – Catch the Drop to launch the initiative.

Beyond the new School and Community Outreach programmes, the HSBC Water Programme – Catch the Drop hopes to continue raising awareness through a variety of activities for children.

So far, staff volunteers from the HSBC Malta Water Programme – Catch the Drop have conducted 305 presentations for 19,438 students – nearly half the total number the three-year programme aims to reach by June 2016.

The Catch the Drop campaign is an initiative of the Ministry of Energy and Health.
