‘Building the future we want’ was the theme of a business breakfast organised by Caremalta.
The event focused on giving choice to people with disability and creating more awareness.
Several stakeholders attended, including people with disa-bility, parents of people with disability and representatives from the National Commission People with Disabilites and the Employment and Training Corporation.
The breakfast opened with a performance by the Opening Doors Association, an autonomous NGO that promotes active involvement of adults with learning disabilities in the artistic and creative sector.
Speakers shared their personal life experiences of living with their disability.
A detailed explanation of the United Convention for Rights of People with Disabilities was also given.
Caremalta’s CEO Natalie Briffa Farrugia said the company was committed to this sector of society and wanted to be a voice for people with disability.
Family and Social Solidarity Minister Michael Farrugia was also present.
