A Somali man was remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of two Sudanese men.

Abdirahman Ahmed, 49, denied stabbing the men during a fight on Saturday evening in Triq id-Duluri, Hamrun.

The two victims turned up at the Hamrun station at 10pm with blood on their clothes and the police called for medical assistance.

No request for bail was made. Lawyer Joseph Ellis appeared for Mr Ahmed.

Police inspectors Robert Vella and Edel Mary Camilleri prosecuted.
