A 23-year-old man from Siġġiewi was injured when he crashed his car into a tree in Triq Mgr Mikiel Azzopardi yesterday at 3.25pm. The police said the man was driving a Ford Escort in the direction of Żebbuġ. His 25-year-old male passenger from Gżira was not injured.

The driver, who was extracted from the vehicle by Civil Protection Department personnel, was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.
