Nature Trust Malta held the annual Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) seminar and awards ceremony at Gozo College Sannat Primary and Special Unit.

Two schools – Sannat Primary and St Francis Victoria – were awarded their first Green Flag for reaching high standards in education for sustainable development (ESD) through the EkoSkola programme. Gozo College Boys’ Sec and Għarb Primary were awarded the Bronze award.

The ES committee from Żebbuġ Primary were awarded book prizes for their participation in the Press Kids Programme. Specialised workshops on how EkoSkola, Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) and Learning about Forests (LEAF) can promote ESD across the curriculum for teachers and students were held.

Chris Caruana, WasteServ representative, made a presentation on food waste. The seminar, which was a good networking meeting for teachers and students, was an EWWR project – a waste free event.
