The Foundation for Human Resources Development (FHRD) met Education Minister Evarist Bartolo to present its vision on the introduction of a warrant for HR professionals.

The minister was also presented with a gift commemorating the opening of the foundation’s new offices in Tigné.

Following an evaluation exercise carried out with its members, coupled with feedback it received from a number of bodies, the FHRD believes the time is now ripe for such a warrant.

The foundation was set up to spearhead the evolution of people management and development practices, as well as the human resources profession in Malta.

An autonomous and independent body, the FHRD benefits from close working relationships with constituted bodies, employers’ associations and trade unions, leaders of the industry and the government.

The constant development in HR practices and the need to regularise and standardise the profession has led to the foundation seeing the need of an HR warrant.

A warrant should lead to tangible benefits for both businesses recruiting and managing their workers and employees themselves.

The foundation hopes to work in partnership with its corporate and individual members, HR practitioners, service providers and other key players.
