Times Talk last Tuesday discussed the uglification of Malta brought about by tasteless construction. Sandro Chetcuti, the Malta Developers Association president, insisted that developers loved the countryside to the extent that they bought farms with 20 tumoli of land.

Joining in the discussion were the new Chamber of Architects president Christopher Mintoff, and Edward Said, an architect specialising in conservation. The three  debated measures to possibly improve the aesthetics of buildings.
