GRECH. On December 9, at Gozo General Hospital, CARMEL, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Pawla and his sister Francesca, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Gozo General Hospital today at 3.30pm for Qala parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 4pm, followed by interment in the family grave at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Qala. MAGRIN. On December 11, at Mater Dei Hospital, SPIRIDIONE, aged 92, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, went to meet the Risen Lord and his late first wife Josephine. Will always be loved and remembered by his wife Censina, his children Charles and his wife Miriam, Emanuel and his wife Miriam, Maria and her husband Joseph Camenzuli, Phyllis and her husband Michael Micallef, Anna and her husband Raymond Fenech, and Evelyn, widow of his son Paul, his 15 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his brothers, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital this afternoon at 1.30pm for San Ġwann parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, or Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, Rainbow Ward, Mater Dei Hospital, would be greatly appreciated. PORTELLI. On December 11, at Casa Antonia, Balzan, FRANK, passed away suddenly. He leaves to mourn his wife Antida née Borg, his daughter Francesca and her husband Ian Castaldi Paris and his son Nicky, his siblings Anna, Josette and Colin and their respective families, his wife’s brothers and sisters and their respective families, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said today at 8.30am at Oratorju MSSP, Birkirkara, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VELLA. On December 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIA ADRIANA (Rina) of Ħamrun, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her only sister Frida, wife of John Grech, and Antoinette, widow of her brother Michael; her nephews and nieces Stephen and Maria, Chris and Catherine, Salvinu, Elizabeth and Neville, Sarah and Joseph, Peter and Abigail; her grand nieces and nephews Andrea, Rachelle, Gillian, Kyle, Kayne, Carolina, Isaac and Alessandro; cousins, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 7.45am for the Immaculate Conception parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.15am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, Rainbow Ward, Mater Dei Hospital, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Requiem Masses

In thanksgiving and to celebrate the life of Count Dr FRANCIS BERNARD who passed away in the UK on September 19, 2014, his family in Malta are organising two Masses for the repose of his soul, today at 7pm and tomorrow at 10am at St Rita chapel, Lourdes Lane, Paceville, St Julian’s. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.

Today being the fifth anniversary of the demise of ALFRED NAUDI, a Mass for the repose of his soul will be said at 9.30am at Balluta parish church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Poppy Appeal Fund

The Poppy Appeal Committee would like to thank and inform the general public that the funds collected during the Poppy Appeal 2014 amounted to €21,621.13. The money collected is kept in Malta to assist all ex-servicemen.
