The Dominican missionaries in Albania would like to thank the O.P. Mission Support Group (Rabat) which for these last four years has organised activities, including bazaars, art exhibitions and other initiatives in aid of our mission. They sent us a donation of €10,000, which will be used to build a Social Development Centre in the village of Lagjja Mirdita on the periphery of the city of Durrës.

Maltese Dominican friars have been offering their service here for the past 15 years. The small chapel dedicated to St George, built in this village through the generosity of the Maltese people, gives us the opportunity to celebrate the Sunday Masses and other liturgical celebrations throughout the year.

The local community now needs an appropriate environment in which classes of catechism and other educational exercises could be held within the broad context of a more complete human formation.
