A special open day will be held at the Malta at War Museum, Couvre Porte, Vittoriosa on Saturday, 13 December 2014 (Republic Day) between 10:00am  and 4:00pm. Visitors will have the unique opportunity of viewing the newly refurbished museum and underground air-raid shelters and viewing the temporary exhibition entitled 'Christmas in Wartime Malta'. There will be live historic interpretation sessions providing information about subjects such air raid signals, protection against gas attack and wartime food.

Traditional Maltese Christmas specialities like honey-rings and 'imbuljuta' will  be available on site at the newly established museum cafeteria, which will also serve hot and cold drinks and light snacks. Entrance to the museum, air raid shelters and exhibition will be €10 for adults and free for children. Wirtartna Friends will enter for free on presentation of their subscription card.
