The Labour Party this afternoon called on the Opposition leader to declare whether he agreed with the conclusions of an inquiry held following the death of migrant Infeanyi Nworkoye in 2011.

Mr Nworkoye died after he was beaten upon his recapture after escaping from detention.

The inquiry report, tabled yesterday, includes a reference to former minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici who was politically responsible for Detention Services.

Dr Busuttil, the PL said, should declare what action he would be taking about the former minister.

The inquiry concluded that Dr Mifsud Bonnici had ordered the detention services head not to sack officers involved in the migrant’s death despite their refusal to cooperate.

Dr Mifsud Bonnici yesterday denied having told anyone not to do his duty.

PN; DON'T BE PATHETIC

In a reaction, the Nationalist party said Prime minister Joseph Muscat should stop being pathetic.

"It has now become customary that whenever he finds himself with his back against the wall he digs up something out if his bag of tricks to deviate attention. The latest poor attempt has been his non-revelation of yet another report almost two years after the election. This is yet another cover-up by the Prime Minister to deviate attention from his weak leadership on ‘Malliagate’" the PN said.

"If the Prime Minister considers that there was wrong-doing he should be man enough to do something about it. No wonder that people are getting tired of seeing their Prime Minister abdicate his responsibility instead of doing his job as Prime Minister."
