Reference is made to a letter written by Joseph Muscat and entitled ‘The scourge of billboards’ (December 1).

A photo of a Burger King billboard was reproduced with his letter stating that the billboard in question was mounted a week ago in the vicinity of the Mosta war victims’ memorial.

I would like to point out that no such Burger King billboard was placed in the area and the image in caption was in fact of an old billboard used a number of months ago in the Tal-Qroqq area highlighting the opening of a new Burger King restaurant in Qormi.

Furthermore, I would like to highlight that it is our company’s policy to only book billboards that are covered by a relevant Mepa permit and always seek written confirmation of this from our suppliers prior to confirming any bookings for such billboards.

It is most unfortunate that an image depicting a Burger King billboard was used totally out of context in the above-mentioned letter when reference that was made by Muscat in the last paragraph of the letter was to a totally unrelated product.
