I would like to quote two excerpts.
Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster, in his pastoral letter about the Synod on the family, wrote: “There was no suggestion throughout that the teaching of the Church in any way can approve the idea of a same-sex marriage or that its stand about sexual morality should be changed.”
The other one was on the occasion of the local Church’s Mass in recognition of Archbishop Emeritus Paul Cremona’s eight years at the helm. Bishop Charles Scicluna said: “He rejoiced with us on the occasion of the canonisation of St George Preca, fruit of the holiness of this country. Also when Pope Benedict the XVI paid us a visit and wept with us when he felt that the people made choices which do not conform with Christ’s wishes.”
On top of this, Pope Francis, during one of his recent audiences, reiterated that whatever parliaments or any law may say, marriage will only ever be the union of one man and one woman.
Food for thought.
