On the 9th of December 2014, in the University Quadrangle, this year's edition of 'Christmas on Campus' was launched, once again as a collaborative effort between the University Administration, the Chaplaincy on campus and the Kunsill Studenti Universitarji (KSU).

Fr Mark Cachia SJ, Dr Jean Paul De Lucca, a lecturer on campus, and Ms Rand Tawasha, a Palestinian student in Malta who gave reference to the hostility back home, even at this time of Christmas, all spoke in this launch, explaining the theme of this year’s edition: “Peace, Our Daily Battle.” The University Vocal Ensemble entertained this launch for all those present, many of which were representatives of student organisations.

Once again a jam-packed calendar of events throughout December has been planned to raise spirits on campus and make evident the spirit of Christmas and Solidarity amongst the University body. The proceeds of this huge campus initiative will all go to Solidaritree, this year's youth branch of l-iStrina, and Dar tal-Providenza.

A series of daily events and fund raising initiatives are to be held throughout December, particularly between the 9th of December, following the Opening Ceremony, and the 19th of December 2014. The initiatives organised by the 33 organisations on campus vary from bake sales, sports competitions, to movie marathons and a lot of festive cheer.

Christmas on Campus is truly a time that brings together University Administration together with the University student body, for one of the largest collaborations on campus, in a bid to contribute to the society we are part of.

Last year's successful instalment of this great effort brought in €12,000 to be distributed. We invite all press to promote heavily this year’s Christmas on Campus, to make sure it is even more successful than it has been in the past.
