GALEA. On December 4, ABRAHAM from Birkirkara, residing at Mosta, aged 84, peacefully went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. A beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is lovingly missed by his cherished wife Mary née Fenech, his son, airline captain John and his partner Doris, his daughter, psychiatrist Dr Ethel Felice and her husband Dr John Felice, his son Franklyn and his partner Carmen, his daughter, advocate Dr Jacqueline Tanti-Dougall and her husband, advocate Dr Michael Tanti-Dougall, his grandchildren Sarah Pillow and her husband Ryan Pillow, advocate Dr Rachel Galea and Elizabeth Galea, Elena Felice and Gabriel Felice, advocate Dr Rebekah Tanti-Dougall and Mattea Tanti-Dougall, his great-grandchildren Lily Pillow and Zachary Pillow. He is also lovingly missed by his sister Mary Galea, his dedicated carer Grace Martin, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their respective husbands and wives, numerous other relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 am for a celebration Mass, praesente cadavere, at 9am at Santa Elena Basilica, Birkirkara, followed by a private interment in the family grave at Mosta Cemetery. It would be appreciated should, rather than flowers, donations would be given to Hospice Malta or to the Mental Health Association (Malta) of which Prof. Abraham Galea was founder. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nursing staff who took special care of Abraham Galea at Mater Dei and Hospice Malta who assisted him at home during his short illness. May the Lord grant him serenity in an eternal spring.
MIFSUD. On December 5, at St Vincent de Paul residence, MARY, widow of Herbert, aged 87, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Jennifer, wife of Joseph Sciriha, Pierre and his wife Elsebeth, Madeleine and John, her brother Lino and his wife Mary, her beloved grandchildren and her great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves St Vincent de Paul residence tomorrow at 1.30pm for the Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
ROE, on December 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIA ANTONIA (TONINA), aged 92, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She will always be loved and remembered by her son Frank and his wife Monika, David and his wife Rita, grandchildren Etienne, Derk, Diane, Darren, Dunstan and their families, great-grandchildren Deliza, Kieran, Miguel, Zane, Jayden, Raquela and Yana, her brother John and his wife Mary, Joe, widower of Mary who lives in Canada, Peter, widower of Sheila who lives in England, Tessie, widow of Paul, all their respective families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30pm for Gżira parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. ZAMMIT. On December 6, MICHAEL, of Mqabba, residing in Valletta, aged 80, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughters Carmen and her husband Raymond Mallia, Anna and her husband Charles Bonnici and Pauline, widow of Aldo Sammut, his grandsons Edward, Christopher, Thomas, Mark, James and their respective wives and fiancées, his brother Charles and his wife Censina, his sisters Maria, Antonia and Pia, his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday at 1.30pm for St Paul’s Shipwreck church, Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
