• A Christmas open market will be held today at St Peter and St Paul’s Square, Nadur, from 8am onwards.

• The Gozo Bird Breeders Society will hold a bird show at the Gozo sports complex, Victoria, today from 8.30am to 7pm.

• A concert by Winter Moods will take place at the Aurora Theatre, Victoria, today at 8pm organised by the Parliamentary Secretariat for Persons with Disability and Active Ageing. Persons with disability will also take part. The Premju Soċjeta Ġusta (Fair Society Prize) will be awarded by President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca during the concert. Admission is against a donation to the Marigold Foundation of €5 or €10.

• The Gozo Agricultural, Industrial and Cultural Society is organising its annual Christmas exhibition of traditional crafts today and tomorrow, from 8.30am to noon and from 4 to 9pm at the Gozo Ministry exhibition hall, St Francis Square, Victoria. Entrance is free. Trophies for the best exhibits will be awarded by Gozo Minister Anton Refalo tomorrow at 5.30pm.

• Masses at Ta’ Pinu sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm, followed by the recital of the rosary and eucharistic benediction.

• Masses at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church, Ta’ Ħamet, will be said today at 9.30am and at 7.30pm.

• Planes Fire and Rescue will be screened at Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30pm. Hercules will be screened tomorrow at 8pm. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will be screened on Saturday at 8.30pm.

• The feast of the Immaculate Conception will be celebrated tomorrow at the Franciscan conventual church, Victoria. Apostolic Nunzio Aldo Cavalli will lead a concelebrated Mass at 9.30am with the participation of the Laudate Pueri choir. Mgr Lawrenz Sciberras will deliver a panegyric. The procession with the Immaculate Conception statue starts at 5.45pm, accompanied by the La Stella Band of Victoria.

• The feast of the Immaculate Conception will also be celebrated tomorrow in Qala. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead a concelebrated Mass at 9.30am at the Immaculate Conception sanctuary. The traditional motorcycles pilgrimage from Ta’ Pinu sanctuary starts at 1.30pm. Archpriest Injazju Borg will bless the motorcycles and mementos will be distributed. The procession with the statue of the Virgin Mary starts at 5pm, accompanied by the Ite ad Joseph Band of Qala.

• The annual carol singing service of the Legion of Mary (Gozo) ecumenical committee in collaboration with the Gozo diocese and the Anglican Community will be held at St Peter and Paul’s parish church, Nadur on Wednesday at 7pm. Foreign residents of all denominations are invited to attend.

• The Lay Fraternity of Charles de Foucauld (Gozo) will hold a prayer meeting on Thursday at 7.15pm at Good Shepherd pastoral centre, Taċ-Ċawla, Victoria. All are welcome.

• The feast of St Lucy will be celebrated on Saturday at Santa Luċija, Gozo. The parish church will be open all day and Mass will be said every hour from 7am to 1pm. At 5.15pm the relic of St Lucy will be translated followed by a solemn concelebrated Mass led by Mgr Giovanni Gauci. At 6.45pm, Ta’ Klula Foundation will hold its annual traditional light festival in the village’s main square, followed by band marches in Sta Lucija Street at 7.30pm. St Gregory Band of Kerċem will take part.

• An exhibition of scale models of aircraft, cars, ships, figures, dioramas, paper models and science fiction figures will be held by Gozo Scale Modellers Club at The Duke shopping mall, Victoria, on Saturday from 9am to 7pm.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church, Ta’ Ħamet, on Saturday at 8pm, followed by Mass at midnight.

• Xagħra Scout Group is organising a Christmas dinner at Eldorado Restaurant, Victoria, on Saturday at 8pm, in aid of its new headquarters. To book, call 9943 3442 or 7994 6768.

• The Friends of the Sick and Elderly (Gozo) will hold a charity sale at the football ground near Victoria’s main car park next Sunday from 7.30am to 1pm. The price is €10 for each car space, payable on the day.

• Victoria Scout Group will hold a bike hike in aid of Ability for Disability Association (AFDA) Gozo next Sunday at 1.30pm starting from the scouts’ headquarters in Sta Domenica Street, Victoria. • The Gozo General Hospital social activities committee is organising a fun walk in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund next Sunday starting at 3pm from the hospital main gate. Everyone is invited to attend.

• Joe Camilleri and Lino Borg will give a lecture at Il-Ħaġar Museum, Victoria, on December 20 at 10.30am entitled Ġorġ Fenech – L-Artist tad-Dawl u Kulur. The public is invited to attend.
