Pupils at St Francis School, Victoria, learnt various ways to recycle and reduce waste, especially food waste, during activities organised by the school as part of the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR). The children visited a supermarket to learn how to shop in a smart way. They attended a demonstration on cooking with leftovers held in Villa Rundle Gardens, Victoria, which was also attended by parents, tourists and passers-by. A session on composting was held at a public garden. The pupils visited Munxar and cathedral public libraries to donate their second-hand books. They also donated such books and toys to the children’s and physiotheraphy wards at Gozo General Hospital. The presentation was attended by hospital CEO Nadine Delicata, paediatrician Simon Mifsud and other staff members. A school exhibition on ways to stop food waste and on recycled projects was inaugurated by Gozo Minister Anton Refalo.
