The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology donated a collection of books to the library of St Andrew’s International Centre.

The centre at St Andrew’s Scots church, Valletta, runs an English language teaching programme for refugees and migrants, part of a wider project being funded by donations from partner churches in Europe.

To support the English language teaching, the centre has set up a library which aims to develop a collection of relevant and appropriate resources focusing on skills related to employment. To date, most of the resources have been donated by UK charity Books Abroad and by a local English language school.

The centre also provides micro-loans that have enabled some migrants to study welding and computer technician courses at Mcast. This training helps the migrants to make a fresh start in their lives.
