St Nicholas College, Boys Secondary, Naxxar, has come out with an innovative idea this Christmas. With the help of their school librarian, students have built a six-foot Christmas tree out of hundreds of unserviceable and unused textbooks. The tree has a dual purpose: as a decorative item for the festive season and to promote reading through a competition where students are being asked to guess the number of books used to make the tree. Students borrowing books will receive a guess token for every book loaned. The closest guess will receive €15 worth of books.
