This Christmas the Comedy Knights present 12 Months of Funny, a show that is made up entirely of locally-written, original sketches that poke good-natured fun at Malta’s socio-political landscape.
After last year’s debut show, the Comedy Knights are look-ing back at the year since then and have created a show that is guaranteed to give plenty of laughs at the expense of local personalities, politics and daily life.
The show is performed by six of Malta’s established comedy performers and written by a troupe of experienced writers.
Last year saw various sketches throwing a funny spin on topical subjects that occupied the Maltese mind through-out 2013. These included the selling of passports, the shoot-ing of a flamingo, the national elections and a lecture on the Maltese language. It also included other sketches about Maltese culture in general and a finale in which the comedy group performed The World’s Shortest Panto – 18 seconds long, in case you were wondering.
This year has seen even more ups and downs, scandals, sell-outs, fools, horses (or should that be Żieme?), mud slinging and more. Accord-ing to the Comedy Knights the material practically writes itself.
Directed by Wesley Ellul, this year’s show features the original cast of Chris Dingli, Jo Caruana, Pia Zammit, Marc Cabourdin and Colin Fitz, with the addition of Thomas Camilleri, last seen performing in Les Miserables and Legally Blonde in London’s West End.
The Comedy Knights’ 12 Months of Funny will be performed at the Salesians Theatre, Sliema, from December 26 to 30.
