We are sadly witnessing an incisive frontal attack on Christmas traditions and celebrations intent on eradicating Christian heritage from the surface of the earth.

Recently, CBS presenter Steven Levy, in spite of his Jewish origin, was completely disgusted that this year the White House has referred to the Christmas Tree as Holiday Tree. He was perfectly right in assuming that this pandering to a foreign culture is applicable to other countries as well.

In the UK, many schools and colleges are phasing out Christmas celebrations and asking students to refrain from sending Christmas cards. In some areas, they have substituted the ‘Christmas Season’ with Winter Festival or Wintervale. In Northampton, the town band will not be singing any Christmas carols.

The list is endless as the god of Mammon wreaks havoc in our culture. This season, Real Madrid removed the cross from their official emblem because of a three-year agreement with National Bank of Abu Dhabi.

British Prime Minister David Cameron admitted that “mistakes in multiculturalism aided extremists”.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has declared: “Multiculturalism has utterly failed.”

It is incumbent on us all to protect our Christian heritage and culture. Let us be bold and let no other culture, however rich and powerful, lessen our resolve “to fight, to strive and not to yield” to the imminent threat against our Christmas culture.

More than ever before, let us make this Christmas a memorable one: roll out the red carpet on Christmas Eve to the procession of Baby Jesus, ring the joyous peals of Holy Night, sing the carols of yesteryear and put Christ and His message of peace back in our homes, clubs, restaurants and public places.

Let our children feel the spiritual uplift of Christmas, which we enjoyed in Christmas past.
