Ħamrun Liberty have managed to retain the knock-out competition for a second successive season when they beat Top Gun Bar 10-9 in an exciting final.

The Ħamrun side took a commanding 5-1 lead in the best-of-19 final. But the Marsa side fought back admirably to level the match at seven-all.

Top Gun Bar kept up the momentum and moved one frame from victory when surging into a 9-7 lead.

However, Liberty put up a stirring fightback to level the match and force a decider.

Here, Anton Cuschieri took centre stage when he completed a remarkable clearance to seal the title for his team.

The final of the KO event for Division Two and Three teams was contested by two Qormi-based sides as Michael’s Bar, on their first appearance in the Malta Pool Association competitions, beat Qormi Football Ground 10-7.
