Emirates is to launch a fourth daily service from Dubai to New York next year.

Afternoon flights on an A380 aircraft from its hub to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) will start on March 8.

“This service will allow passengers the convenience of an afternoon departure from both Dubai and New York, to complement the morning and evening departures of our existing three services,” said Hubert Frach, one of the airline’s divisional senior vice presidents.

“New York is one of our busiest and most popular routes in the United States. Adding this fourth service will give our passengers even more choice of connectivity when flying from any part of our global network, in particular the Far East and South Asia.”

Emirates’s code-share agreement with JetBlue Airways means the new service will allow good connectivity with flights across the US and Caribbean.

At JFK, JetBlue operates from Terminal 5, while Emirates operates from the adjacent Terminal 4.

Members of Skywards, Emirates’s frequent flyer programme, can earn miles on JetBlue-operated flights. Similarly, members of JetBlue’s TrueBlue loyalty programme can earn points for Emirates-operated flights worldwide.

The A380 has 14 first class private suites, 76 business class lie-flat beds and 399 economy seats on the main deck. Its upper deck features Emirates’s lounge for premium passengers and two shower spas for first class passengers.

Emirates operates a daily scheduled flight between Malta and Dubai via Larnaca, Cyprus.
