The Ghana Mission Foundation has announced the winners of a lottery, intended to raise funds for equipment needed for the Intensive Care Unit and operating theatre of the HopeXchange Ghana Medical Centre in Kumasi.
Philip Spiteri, holder of ticket number 0171200, won a Toyota Aygo. Second prize, a Mediterranean cruise for two, was won by ticket number 1143841 and third and fourth prizes, which consisted of weekend breaks at the Radisson Blu and George hotels in St Julian’s, were won by holders of ticket numbers 0380158 and 075592 respectively. A gas barbecue set, the fifth prize, was won by ticket number 0466411, while sixth prize was a hamper by Consolidated Biscuits, won by ticket number 0106787.
The centre was one of 100 pro-jects chosen by St John Paul II to celebrate the Year of Charity in the new millennium.
Mario Cappello and his wife Anna, a Maltese couple who dedicate their lives to form lay missionaries in various parts of the world, had come up with the idea.
