A two-day international symposium on the impacts of environmental change on small island states such as Malta will be held at the University’s Valletta campus tomorrow and on Tuesday.
Local and international scholars will discuss the impact of global environmental change on employment, investment and on the overall health of agriculture, including viticulture, fisheries, transportation and tourism.
The symposium is hosted by the University’s Centre for Labour Studies and the Institute of Earth Systems in collaboration with the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is supported by the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute, the US, and the Barbados campus of the University of the West Indies. Prof. Godfrey Baldacchino and Dr Charles Galdies are the event co-chairs.
