Applications for courses to be offered as part of the Programme in the Liberal Arts and Sciences (Plas) between February and May 2015 are being received by the University’s Centre for the Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Plas is a cross-disciplinary programme that offers people of all ages an opportunity to study at their own pace for personal growth or professional development, to broaden their knowledge for its own sake, to improve their qualifications, to enhance their flexibility in the job market or to start or continue studying at University.

Twenty Plas courses will be offered, covering subjects such as astronomy, economics, marketing, philosophy, criminology, psychology of adjustment and couple relationships, the Maltese Constitution, business venturing, decorative arts in Malta, Mediterranean food culture, medicine and the arts, Spanish and Latin American culture, and the science of plants and plant pests.

Lectures are held from 6 to 8pm at the main campus, Msida, or at the Valletta campus. Some courses will also be offered at the University’s Gozo campus, Xewkija, through videoconferencing.

The Centre for the Liberal Arts and Sciences is offering vouchers that relatives, friends or colleagues may use to apply for Plas courses.

Applicants may register for any and as many courses as they wish. Each course is accredited individually and participants may accumulate ECTS credits to be awarded a certificate, diploma, higher diploma or a bachelor’s degree, without any time limit.

The deadline for online applications is January 16.
