Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and this is also true during the Christmas season. After all there are presents to buy, parties to attend and a million other things that come with the holiday season.

For Eggnog French Toast you’ll need:

3 eggs
180 ml eggnog (you can buy this ready made)
A few drops of rum extract
Pinch of nutmeg
White sliced bread (around 6 slices)

Whisk together eggs, eggnog, rum extract and nutmeg and make sure all ingredients are well blended. Pour the mixture in a shallow dish and start dipping your bread. Dip 2 slices at a time and then flip so the bread is properly coated on both side.

While you’re doing this, carefully heat up a heave based pan and coat it with a little butter, oil or cooking spray. Transfer your sliced bread to the pan, making sure you first let any excess liquid drip off into the dish.

When one side turns golden brown, flip and cook opposite side until golden. Repeat with the rest of your slices. Serve warm with either a selection of fresh fruit, maple syrup or whipped cream.
