The Malta FA’s efforts to entice thousands of enthusiastic young fans for the UEFA Under-17 Championship matches, have received further recognition from European football’s governing body.
At the 2014 UEFA Kiss Marketing Awards Ceremony, held last night in Cacais, Portugal, the MFA’s Reach Out initiative topped the Best Fan Experiential Campaign category.
There were eight submissions for this award with Malta making the final shortlist along with Belgium and France.
The Reach Out campaign’s success in promoting the UEFA U-17 tournament among people from all strata of the society struck a high note with the judges who handed the coveted award to the MFA.
Organised for the first time in 2011, the KISS marketing awards proved to be a successful initiative.
“The UEFA Kiss marketing awards focus strictly on marketing matters: brand building, sponsorship, digital marketing, fan engagement, football promotion, marketing research, merchandising and licensing,” UEFA wrote in the document outlining the activities and objectives of its KISS workshops.
Joe Cassar, the tournament director for the U-17 Championship, held in Malta last May and Norman Saliba, the MFA marketing manager, were present for yesterday’s ceremony.
