The HSBC UK Contact Centre (HBEU) is participating in the three-day EURES Malta – ETC Job Fair which got underway yesterday at the Mediterranean Conference Centre.

Prospective employees will have the opportunity to network with HR personnel and get acquainted with a possible role in the industry as well as discuss career positions on offer.

“It is a tremendous opportunity for the stand-out candidates to make an impression and get a foot in the door in what could become a life-long career for them either in the services industry or the banking sector,” said Fabianne Galea, HR and recruitment manager.

Established in 2006 with a target of 250 employees, HBEU now has more than 400 employees assisting UK account holding customers.

PTL International bond oversubscribed

PTL Holdings plc, the holding company of PTL International, announced that due to heavy oversubscription for the €36 million 5.1 per cent unsecured bonds 2024, the subscription lists which opened on November 24 closed within hours.

Interest on the bonds commences on December 5 and refunds of allocated monies will be made by December 9. The bonds are expected to be admitted to The Malta Stock Exchange on December 10. Trading is expected to commence on December 11.

PTL Holdings plc will announce the basis of acceptance of applications and the allocation policy to be adopted by not later than Monday.

Up to 20% off on Emirates outbound flights

Emirates is offering discounted fares of up to 20 per cent from the normal standard entry fare to travellers from Malta.

The discounted fares apply to 44 destinations spread across the Far East, Middle East, Africa, Indian Sub Continent and Australasia. The sale offer is valid until December 7 for outbound travel until March 31, 2015.

Black out dates apply for departures from December 15 to 31, while bookings and ticketing must be made at least three days before departure. Other terms and conditions apply.

Global language school chain EC English Language Centres has launched the next version of their website, www.ecenglish.com, optimised for all devices and available in five languages.

The website includes detailed arrival, first day and travel guides, individually produced videos highlighting various destinations, and regularly updated individual school blogs and 360 degree virtual tours that allow students and partners to get a ‘first-hand’ look inside and outside the school.
