The Opposition's motion of no confidence in Home Affairs Minister Manuel Mallia would be presented to Parliament after an inquiry into last week's shooting by the minister's driver is concluded, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat told PBS.

The inquiry is being carried out by three former judges led by Judge Alberto Magri. The board was set up two days ago and has two weeks to submit its report.

Dr Muscat said he was keen to receive the report as soon as possible and it would be published immediately.

The findings, he said, should establish who had misled the authorities on the version of events and the actions of the Home Affairs Minister.

The findings would be referred to the Police Board, if required.
