The government today announced a reduction in the cost of certain medicines, some up to 65 per cent according to Consumer Affairs Minister Helena Dalli.

She said this was the third reduction in prices, and this should put consumers’ minds at rest knowing that there was a continual evaluation of the price of medicines.

The list includes medicines to treat osteoporosis, diabetes, herpes, bacterial infections, epilepsy, asthma and depression.

The minister also referred to the launch of the pilot project next year to deliver  medicines at home for people aged over 75 and the infirm.
