Violence: About 100 hooligans armed with sticks and knives wounded three men and caused mayhem when they charged into the coffee bar at River Plate’s Monumental Stadium in a frenzied attack on members of a rival gang. Shenton: Stoke City have tied down teenage prospect Ollie Shenton to a long-term deal. Olsson: West Brom defender Jonas Olsson is set to undergo minor Achilles surgery that will rule him out until January, the club have announced. Dutch orthopaedic surgeon Niek Van Dijk will carry out the operation in Portugal tomorrow with the Baggies estimating Olsson will be out for four to six weeks. The 31-year-old has made just five appearances so far this season.

Wanyama: The home of Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama was burgled while he was away with his club. Thieves broke into the home when Kenyan midfielder Wanyama was away for the game at Aston Villa on Monday night. When the 23-year-old returned he found his Range Rover Sport, electrical items and jewellery had been stolen from his home in Winchester.

Bent: Aston Villa striker Darren Bent has dropped down to the Championship to join Brighton on loan. The 30-year-old former England international, who cost Villa £18 million from Sunderland in 2011, has agreed an initial one-month deal with the Seagulls after falling out of favour at Villa Park. He could make his debut on Saturday against Fulham, the club where he spent last season on loan.
